About us

Christine & Daniel

Welcome to Lake Maggiore at the holiday home “Casa Valentina”!

As a photographer & home stager, this project is a special challenge for me—and a true passion! Together with my husband Daniel, who takes care of the numbers and languages (and pretty much everything else), we created a unique home on Lake Maggiore.

A moment that will always remain close to our hearts: Walter Rauch travelled with us to Lake Maggiore once more at Christmas 2024.
He spent a wonderful, sunny time with us at Casa Valentina—days filled with warmth, conversations and joy that we had made our dream come true, a dream he always supported.
At the beginning of April, we had to let him go. All the more grateful we are that he was able to share those special days with us.

A big thank-you also goes to my son Denis, who supported us immensely with his expertise as a bathroom specialist.

A heartfelt project becomes reality – Casa Valentina

doesn’t happen alone—rather, it takes lots of support, trust and team spirit.
Our special thanks go to our wonderful circle of friends, who supported us so flexibly, hands-on and without fuss

Thanks to:
Heike & Manuel Zimmermann, Tatjana Weidemann, Sylvia & Michael Verch, Janine & Werner Mielke, Pedro Delgado, Grit Knapps, Sabrina Weber, Jana Siebrecht, Tina Schramm—and of course Stephi Biros, who gave us fantastic advice as our architect.
Thank you to Melanie V. Temme for her wonderful paintings, created especially for Casa Valentina.

You are a perfect team—and only with you were we able to make our dream on Lake Maggiore come true.

For many months we planned, carried, furnished, fine-tuned and created.
Today we can proudly say: Casa Valentina is ready for guests—and has become a place where heart, style and nature come together.

Immerse yourselves in the world of design, interiors and the Italian way of life—and get inspired.
We’ll take you on the journey behind the scenes of Casa Valentina.

First contact

In December 2011 we visited Lake Maggiore for the first time and discovered the charming village of Trarego Viggiona. We immediately fell in love with the place and felt at home.

The picturesque landscape, the welcoming locals and the relaxed atmosphere made our stay an unforgettable experience.

Our wedding

When our daughter was born in August 2015, we decided to get married at Lake Maggiore a year later. The picturesque lakeside setting and the romantic atmosphere of Trarego Viggiona seemed like the perfect place for our wedding. It was an unforgettable day, surrounded by family and friends, and the beauty of Lake Maggiore made it truly special.

Our champagne reception at the wedding was unforgettable—and we owe that to our midwife Susan. She organized the reception in a dream house with a beautiful garden and a breathtaking view. All the guests were thrilled, and the atmosphere was completely relaxed and simply wonderful. We are so grateful that Susan helped make this special moment an unforgettable experience.

The house

In November 2016 we met with the owner from Milan to negotiate the purchase of this house. Unfortunately, we quickly realized that she had no intention of selling the house to us.

We regularly spent time each year in our favorite place and kept asking about our dream house. We knew it needed renovation, and yet we just couldn’t let it go. We also looked at other properties again and again, but it always became clear that they weren’t right for us.

By chance we met the current tenants, George and Vito, who told us they were moving into their newly built home and that our dream house might be for sale for family reasons.

In November 2021 we received a call from our real-estate agent Marlise Zanetti saying that the family from Milan had decided to sell the house to us.

In January 2022 a big dream came true for us:
We became the proud owners of the house Casa Marelise, which we lovingly renamed Casa Valentina.

With a lot of passion, patience and the creative support of our architect and site manager Patrick Simonelli, it became a place where we feel completely at home—and a feeling we’d now like to share with you.

After an intensive renovation period, the work is now complete,
and since April 2025 we’ve been delighted to say:
Welcome to Casa Valentina—our little piece of happiness.
